The Woods-[Reignwolf]

Rate the music. Hot or not?

“The Woods” by Reignwolf is his latest single to drop featuring Brad Wilk on drums.  Jordan Cook aka Reignwolf doesn’t drop new music very often but when he does, it’s worth listening to. He’s teamed up with Rage Against The Machine’s drummer, Brad Wilk on this new track so it’s fitting that the song is more menacing than the blues-soaked, electrified anthems he’s become synonymous with releasing.

Cook and Wilk recorded this single in just one day at the legendary Sunset studios in Hollywood. When the music is inspired, it flows and that’s exactly what you’ll hear with this track: energetic, fast, and furious chords that sound like they’re being poured out from a bottle of rock-infused, sparkling electric fuzz.

I’m not surprised that Reignwolf has teamed up with a rock icon like Wilk to release new music. Even though Reignwolf has been making music for almost a decade and has toured with the biggest rock acts on the planet-including Black Sabbath and The Who, he’s still considered somewhat of a new-comer who has won over guitar legends like Pete Townshend who credits Reignwolf with being a much better guitar player than he ever was.

This new record is faster, fiercer, and a bit more aggressive than Reignwolf’s previously released blues-soaked anthems that he’s become synonymous with, but that is to be expected when you’ve collaborated with a Rage Against The Machine band member.

Cook’s guitar playing has always been frenetic and wild, whether he’s channeling the delta blues, psychedelic rock, or hard-rock ragers. Reignwolf absolutely rips it on this track and he’s got one of the most underrated best live shows you’ll ever be blessed to see in a tiny club.

Listen To New Music From Reignwolf

This is his first new single since 2020’s “Cabin Fever” which he recorded during Covid-19 lockdowns. Not sure why he doesn’t release more music, more often, since he’s one of the best rock acts on the scene today but we’ll take it because any day that Reignwolf releases new music is a good day. Listen to Reignwolf if you like; Barns Courtney, The White Stripes, or Des Rocs.
