Trombone Shorty has dropped the third single, “What It Takes” from his upcoming new studio album, Lifted, due out on April 29th. “What it Takes” features fellow Louisiana performer and platinum-selling, Grammy-winning vocalist, Lauren Daigle. “What It Takes” starts with a snare drum roll that segues into an uplifting blend of soul, funk, and pop—a gospel celebration of emerging from times of struggle with strength and grace.
With the release of his new album, Lifted just a few weeks away, Trombone Shorty has locked some key appearances including a performance at the Grammy Salute to Paul Simon alongside Dave Matthews, Little Big Town, and Brandi Carlile, on April 6th in Los Angeles. The concert will air later in 2022 on CBS. Trombone Shorty will also be hosting his upcoming annual Treme Threauxdown event on April 30th in New Orleans with special guests Joan Jett,Gary Clark Jr, Tank, and more.
