Yelawolf Takes Shots At G-Eazy, Post Malone And Hints At Beef With Machine Gun Kelly
Yelawolf has been dropping new freestyles in anticipation of Trunk Muzik III, the follow up to Trunk Music-his most successful mixtape to date and the one that catapulted him into Eminem’s stratosphere.
For the past year, Wolf has been vowing to return to his Catfish Billy persona from his early Trunk Music days in Alabama and has even started rocking his mullet again. He reunited with his legendary scratch DJ/Producer, DJ Klever earlier this year and has been on a tear ever since. releasing seven new freestyles in the past two months.
He’s even got some kind of friendly mullet competition going on with Riff Raff. Friendly is the key word here because Yelawolf isn’t really known for being an asshole who constantly has beef with his peers.
Michael Wayne Altha aka Yelawolf isn’t really known for rap beefs
He’s been in his own lane for over a decade, grinding it out without any real airplay and building up a base of hip-hop fans on the fringe who prefer their hip hop mixed with rock and outlaw country.
Although a guy with Yelawolf’s level of lyrical skills could quickly and easily cause damage in one, rap beef isn’t something a Yelawolf fan has come to look forward to when he drops new music. He’s got one of the sharpest tounges in hip hop and crafts his lyrics so intelligently and with such precision and killer wit that he could quickly and easily do damage in a rap beef.
And this time he has
For starters, Yelawolf accuses Post Malone of being a “culture appropriation thief” and a “biter” and well…you can’t really fault his argument against Posty. Yelawolf and Kid Rock are the pioneers of the outlaw-cowboy-rocknroll-hip-hop scene. They were grinding it out when Posty was still pissing his bed so I can understand Yelawolf’s disdain when he spits these verses:
Yeah, never been a hater, never gave a fuck about a hater
Never been a punk
Yeah, been an innovator, fuck an imitator
I would diss Post Malone but he don’t even rap
F**k it, f**k Post Malone, just because, let’s see if he answers back
All that change, tits, and funk chill bill, and the cowboy boots and hats
Damn Post, why can’t we be friends? Our clothes already match
Poser, biter, appropriation thief, give a f**k how many records you sold
Every fan you made is a leaf off of my tree
Boy you’re my seed, another mullet in the gang with the teeth
I see I just picked a bone with Post Malone and did it all on a B-side beat
He even hints at having issues with Machine Gun Kelly but stops short of going into detail but anyone who has followed Yelawolf on Instagram knows that he’s good friends with Kid Rock. MGK did a track with Kid Rock a couple of years ago and Yelawolf and MGK have been cool with each other since then. I would be surprised to hear if Yelawolf felt differently about him, but who knows. I guess we’ll just have to wait until Trunk Music III.
“Trunk Muzik III bruh, you gon’ know how I feel about MGK,” Yelawolf raps.
He’s got words for G-Eazy too-the People’s Choice most popular Hip Hop Artist in 2017. Yelawolf comes for him with:
Never thought the culture that I loved would be this sleazy
His videos all look alike, no wonder they can’t see me
Is this the guy that said he was the hottest white boy
Since the one with dyed blonde hair, what the f**k
Hold up, G… easy
I can’t let this Tom Cruise lookin’ m**********r just paddle by
Don’t know if I’m watching Vanilla Ice or Vanilla Sky
Marshall Mathers may have ignored you
But if you want the smoke, bring the foil
I’ll boil you till the kettle’s dry
Have a nice day suave
I’m a different breed, I’m a wolf, OK?
Yep, got it, Wolf. We completely agree-you’re a different breed.
